A Brief History
Back in the 1990s, Keisuke Onishi and Shin Kikuchi were working on their graduation thesis in path finding algorithms.
Dr. Onishi worked on path-finding algorithms for road navigation, while Mr. Kikuchi based his research on time table information.
A few years after graduating, they were working together in the same company assigned to an internal entrepreneur project. They realized that most of the time, people used a combination of transportation methods when traveling from point A to point B - they combined their research to create the award-winning patented solution for multimodal navigation they called Total NAVI™.
Unlike conventional navigation methods - which can only calculate a single transportation method at a time - Total NAVI™ seamlessly calculates the fastest route using a combination of transportation methods, including walking, driving, trains, buses, and flying.
Our Japanese customers became the first in the world to enjoy the benefits of a practical and reliable navigation solution on their cellular phones, in October 2003 when the first GPS handsets became available.
