No More Excuses to be Late (or to Get Lost) In Japan
NAVITIME JAPAN launches English mobile GPS navigation services targeting visitors and foreign residents in Japan
Tokyo, Japan -- July 21, 2009 -- NAVITIME JAPAN Co., Ltd. (NAVITIME JAPAN) today launches two services in Japan that provide location based services (LBS) in the English language. NAVITIME JAPAN has been providing LBS services in Japanese for the Japan market, and English services for 23 countries and areas globally. However, this will be the first time for the company to provide English-based services covering Japan.
The services each target visitors to Japan using Smartphones, and local residents in Japan subscribed to docomo and Softbank1 . Those wishing to use the service can select one out of the two depending on the device or local operator they use. Both services will share the common name "NAVITIME".

Main features of both services include:
- Multi-modal routes and directions
- Map and points-of-interest (POI) search
- GPS pedestrian and car navigation1 available for Smartphone users
- GPS pedestrian navigation available for docomo users (currently available for limited models)2
- Public transportation transit and timetable information covering Japan3 (provided by official authorities)
- Restaurant data provided by Japan's leading restaurant search site
- Event information, such as concerts, sports, exhibitions, and festivals
- Hotel information (online reservations can be made through the PC website)
- PC website that is synchronized linked to the mobile service with an ID and password
NAVITIME JAPAN will be participating in the EXPO COMM WIRELESS JAPAN 2009 which will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight between July 22nd to the 24that booth E-064. Demonstrations will be available.
